Covid 19 response

 This Ramadan we are unable to have our traditional program due to the restrictions in place due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. This means that we will not have our usual costs for opening the centre and providing daily Iftar. We will only be providing meals to those who are shielding, vulnerable or unwell from our community. Please email info@sicm.org.uk to register for this service.  

We have instead partnered with The Lady Fatemah Trust and Sufra to launch our Ramadan appeal this year. We aim to support those who are in much more need then ourselves and hope that our members will support these causes in the coming weeks. See below for further details. SICM has teamed up with LFT to run two exciting appeals over the length of Ramadan 1441. LFT have been supporting communities around the world for 23 years. During the Covid 19 pandemic, they have committed to supplying 10,000 food parcels to the families most in need around the world in this Month of Ramadan.  

Food Parcel Campaign:

Food parcels worth on average £35 can be sent to Ethiopia Gaza India Iraq Kenya Pakistan and Tanzania. These contain food rations for a month and in some places soap and disinfectant this month if required. 

SICM Aim to raise at least £10,000 which would provide 285 families with food parcels.

Mothernomics: 

Holistic, scalable and low cost, Mothernomics is a high impact programme of support with the widowed mothers community in Iraq, Gaza and Palestine

Mothernomics has re-invented the way widowed mothers and their families are treated in post conflict society enabling them  to find self-worth through re-integrating in society, becoming economically active and providing for themselves and their children. The Lady Fatemah Trust’s one of a kind programme transforms Mothers emotional, physical and spiritual wellbeing  and helps women claim back their role in society.

SICM has been a long-standing supporter of Sufra NW London , provider of food aid to the poorest and vulnerable in our societies, such as homeless, refugees and anyone struggling to make ends meet.  During the Covid emergency, the homeless have been asked to self isolate in hotels, and Sufra is providing 160 hot meals every day. SICM is sponsoring the Food Drive by providing all cooked meals every Saturday and Sunday during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Thank you for helping us raise the £5000 needed to provide these meals.

Update 9th May 2020

We have been asked to provide an extra 75 meals per weekend day, taking the total meals provided every Saturday and Sunday to 225. Please help us cover the cost for this by raising an extra £1800.

We hope that with your support we can raise an extra £2500 for Sufra to provide Eid gifts for up to 250 refugee, asylum and other children living in poverty, celebrating Eid.
