Muharram 1440 (September 2018)
Our Muharram Programme in September 2018 took place with a range of backgrounds including Sunni Scholars (Hasnain Bukhari and Qari Asim) to complement the brilliant Shaykh Luqman Ali and Professor Seyed Fatemi. The dramatic storytelling by the Khayaal Theatre group, led by Luqman Ali was extremely well received by both children and adults alike.
Eid ul Ghadeer (August 2018)
For our Eid ul Ghadeer programme, we welcomed Shaykh Muhammed Rizvi who looked at why we celebrate this auspicious occasion. We were also fortunate to have Yusuf Nurmohamed who recited a beautiful qasida.
World Cup Viewings (July 2018)
With the football World Cup in full swing, we held viewings of the England matches! There was enthusiasm from all ages – with face paint and England tops littering the hall. Snacks were provided too!
Eid in the Park (June 2018)
For Eid 1439, we held an event in the park. We invited community members to set up stalls and had games for the family as well as food for all. The Eid event was very well attended with children and adults alike enjoying the day. Luckily, the weather held out for us despite threatening rain!
Ramadan (May - June 2018)
Our Ramadan Programme this year focused not only on the spiritual aspects but also on the humanistic aspects. We invited the needy in the nearby areas to join us for Iftar on a weekly basis, we switched to biodegradable crockery and we continued with our meat-free Mondays.
Imam Ali Wiladat (March 2018)
To celebrate Imam Ali’s birth anniversary, we welcomed Shaykh Arif Abdulhusein to deliver the main talk. We were also fortunate to have Suhail Valji recite a qasida and Abaan Hakim to recite Qur’an.
