Event Details

Join us as we welcome Iqbal Asaria as we discuss “Will Europe’s Demographic Imperative Empower the Far Right and Turbocharge Islamophobia?

The programme begins at 8:29pm with Salaat followed by Qur’an recitation and a short talk by Safiyah Rajan, This will be followed by the main talk (starting at approximately 8:50pm).

Europe’s ageing population and declining birth rates will necessitate recourse to mass immigration of younger people. Estimates of the shortfall project a need for nearly 50 million young workers in the next twenty years. Many of these will have to come from Muslim countries like Turkey and Bosnia either joining the EU, or countries bordering Europe. Without enlightened statesmanship this imperative can give rise to rabid fascism and Islamophobia.

This programme will be face to face and streamed online.

We will be streaming the programme live on our YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/sicmtv

If you would like to recite Qur’an during the programme, please do let us know: email us: info@sicm.org.uk
