Ummi is an internationally acclaimed scholar, educator, and visionary leader with a profound background in Islamic education. As one of the four founding members of the Hujjat Saturday Workshop, she has played a pivotal role in shaping Islamic learning experiences for countless individuals. Her contributions include organising transformative summer camps in Stanmore, establishing parallel night classes for boys and girls, and creating special after-school workshops during the sacred months of Muharram, Safar, and Ramadan. Ummi’s dedication to education extends beyond the community centre, as she frequently visits schools to deliver insightful assemblies on Islam and hosts secular school visits to the Centre, offering students a firsthand glimpse into Islamic life and values.  

As the CEO and founder of Q Fatima, Ummi has revolutionized Islamic education by developing innovative, accessible, and engaging resources. Her work focuses on making Islamic learning simple, relevant, and relatable for all ages. Among her most notable initiatives are Quran City, a creative approach to understanding the structure of the Qur’an through the metaphor of building a city, and QBytes bite-sized lessons designed to inspire curiosity and deepen knowledge.  

On a broader scale, Ummi’s commitment to fostering unity and understanding is evident through her role on the Executive Committee of Harrow Interfaith. She coordinates interfaith activities, bridging communities and promoting dialogue, respect, and collaboration.
