Event Details
Join us as we commemorate the death anniversary of Imam Zaynul Abideen (AS).
The programme will include a talk by Shaykh Rida Jichi entitled “Taqiyya in Islam”.
Taqiyya (Dissimulation, loosely defined as concealing one’s beliefs to save one’s life from an externally inflicted danger) is often popularly presented as a Shi’i specific doctrine or practice deviating from general principles of Islam such as truthfulness and dissociation from evil. This talk attempts to correct such misconception and shed light on Taqiyya, its types, roots, domains, and limits in the sharia. It will also attempt to explain the origins of the difference in the public mainstream perception on Taqiyya amongst Muslim denominations by touching lightly on early Muslim history.
This programme will be face to face and streamed online.
We will be streaming the programme live on our YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/sicmtv
