Amna was the Commonwealth Secretariat’s political analyst for South Asia between 2012 and 2017. During this time she assessed pre-electoral conditions and freedoms in Commonwealth member states, and worked with multiple high-level international Observer Groups, including in Pakistan during the 2013 election, when a historic transition of power took place between elected civilian government. Amna is trained in election observation by the European Union, has worked on parliamentary strengthening with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, and has managed UK government peace-building project portfolios in Pakistan.
