EID UL FITR 1441

Eid Prayers can be prayed in congregation or on one’s own (e.g. see Ayatullah Sistani’s website here; https://www.sistani.org/english/book/48/2259/).

Given the lockdown but our desire to retain the spirit of Eid, we will be streaming the Eid takbir, the Eid prayers and the khutba afterwards.

It is important to reiterate that whilst the Eid prayers are being streamed, you cannot join in congregation (jama’a) from home. However, you can perform the prayers alone (with the intention of “furada”) or in congregation with your family when you are at home, whilst listening to the streamed prayer.

After the end of the Eid prayer, takbir and khutba, there is a talk from the EC, after which we are trying something new! We are asking everyone to join onto Zoom, switch their videos on, and allow everyone on the call to see one another, in a “virtual community” in the gallery mode. This will not be recorded and not be livestreamed. Details of this zoom call will be made available closer to the time.
