Gareth Thomas MP

Gareth Thomas MP is a British Labour Co-operative politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Harrow West since 1997 and the Chair of the Co-operative Party since 2001. Thomas held the position of Minister of State at the Department for International Development and, following the 2010 election, joined the shadow frontbench team.

Mayor of Harrow, Kareema Marikar

The Mayor for the municipal year 2018/19 is The Worshipful The Mayor, Councillor Kareema Marikar. She was elected as a councillor in May 2010 and was the deputy Mayor for the 2017-2018 year.

Shaykh Bahmanpour

Dr Mohammad Saeed Bahmanpour was raised in Iran and studied at Queen Mary College London, the London School of Economics and the Allameh Tabatabai University in Tehran. His main fields of interest are theology, Islamic mysticism, and Qur’anic sciences and exegeses, including its history and compilation. He has been delivering talks at SICM for many years and has recently started to hold a consultation service to address questions from the community. He is the director of interfaith relations at the Islamic Centre of England. 

He is also interested in the history of Jesus and Mary from an Islamic perspective and has written a screenplay about the life of Mary based on the Islamic sources, which was made into a successful movie. Another of his works on Christian history was the screenplay about The Seven Sleepers of the Cave (Ashab al-Kahf).

Sheikh Bahmanpour has authored several books including Muslim Identity in the 21st Century, ed. (2001), The Idols Will Fall (2010),The Blessed Tree: The Life and Times of Fatima Daughter of Muhammad (2011) and Towards Eternal Life(2015).
