|Description:||Salaat followed by Qur&an recitation and the main talk by Ammar Asaria on Racism In the Modern World.
In more recent times, various claims have been made to say that racism is no longer present in our daily lives. With the election of a black president in the US and ethnic minorities playing a more prevalent part in Britain, has racism been removed? In this talk, Ammar will attempt to define what racism is and from this definition show how it is present in every aspect of modern society. From this, we will look at what the effect on non-white communities is due to racism.
Ammar Asaria, a Physics graduate from Imperial College London obtained his PGCE from Durham in 2012 and subsequently taught at a local school for two years. He is an active member of the community and heavily involved with Husayni Madrasah.
